Whose policy

The house is the policy every market follows unless it disagrees. Pick a market to give that one town its own answer — it inherits everything you leave blank, so changing house policy still reaches it.

What runs on the strip

The strip ships as local news only — that is the default, not a limit. Everything else is here.

How local is local

A newsroom outside the town has to name the town before its story counts as this town's news — that test is always on for the nearby and state lanes. These switches decide which lanes are consulted at all.

Strict: drop anything that never says the town's name Applies the naming test to the town's OWN paper too, which also files national wire copy. Off by default: a local paper covering its own county often never says the city name.

Which town the national front door reports on. An explicit ?market= on the page still wins, so a market page stays its own.

Never show headlines containing

Comma separated, matched anywhere in the line and case-insensitively, so obituar catches both obituary and obituaries.

Pin a line

Rides ahead of the wire. It expires by itself, because a pinned notice nobody remembers to remove is how a site ends up advertising last month's road closure.
